Women's - Samsung Galaxy Championship Tour/WSL -World Surf League
Brief
On this second day of competition in Honolua Bay, Maui, Hawaii, the Hawaiian surfers were very well again as I already pointed out on November 30, 2015.
When the event initiated were six Hawaiian surfers, just the Trials winner D. McGill(HAW)-she was just defeated by L. Peterson(USA)World No.4 at final minutes of the heat - left in the Round 2, so left five surfers to Round 3.
In the Round 3 -A. Quizon(HAW) and C. Moore(HAW) won and went directly to Quarterfinals.
After on in the Round 4, in the opening heat T. Weston-Webb(HAW) World No.8, also surfed very well in Maui defeated L. Peterson(USA), however M. Manuel(HAW)was defeated by T. Wright(AUS)World No.5.
Then were four Hawaiian surfers in the Quarterfinals and just T. Weston-Webb(HAW) was defeated by his compatriot C. Moore(HAW) World No.1-two times World Champion.
So, from six Hawaiian surfers in the Round 1, a half of them, three were in the Semifinals.
It seemed a Hawaiian Surf Championship!
C. Ho(HAW) surfed very well in Honolua Bay - defeated C. Conlogue(USA) in Round 4 - was defeated by S. Fitzgibbons(AUS) otherwise would be a Hawaiian final in Honolua Bay.
At Final, C. Moore(HAW) scored the only 10.00 wave in the event, defeated S. Fitzgibbons(AUS) and became World Champion of Surfing for the third time.
