After conquering the French stage, Medina kept chances of Bichampionship

SURF - THE CHAMPION IS BACK

After 14 months, the Brazilian Gabriel Medina  backed to win a stage of World Circuit of Surfing when conquered the Title in Hossegor, in France.
The event is special for the World Champion because was in French beaches that the surfer of São Paulo won his first stage in the elite, in 2011.

-I missed to win an event. Some months ago, I lost my grandfather and I want dedicate this Victory to him -felt emotional the surfer when remembered the death of Jaime Pinto, his grandfather by mother side.

The Victory kept Medina in the battle for the Title, despite the favorites: the Australian Mick Fanning and Adriano de Souza -the Mineirinho.
With discards, the distance to Fanning is 8,000 points -are still 20,000 for disputing in two stages left.

In Women's Championship, the "Hawaiian-gaúcha" Tatiana Weston-Webb. Daughter of the bodyborder Tanira Guimarães and of the surfer Doug Weston-Webb, Englishman that has grow up in U.S.A., Tatiana was born in Porto Alegre and lives in Hawaii.

The most famous name of Brazilian surfing in Big Waves, and with wide experience in Hawaii, the surfer of Pernambuco Carlos Burle bet in the bichampionship of Medina, but confesses that cheers for Adriano.
-Medina is the most dangerous, because has great talent and is the guy more complete. I would bet on him by surprise effect and by his capacity and talent unquestionable, but would like that Adriano would win. He deserves a lot.

It was difficult to find the good waves, and the wind perturbed. I wait to going on. I am feeling well, at a different situation of last year. I am not worried with other guys that dispute the title. I just want to surf well. If happens, happened. I do not want to put pressure on myself, just want to surf.
-said Medina, that needs to win the stage and to cheer for a combination of results to conquer the title

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
When I read his words in the Extra Newspaper to prepare the Version in English- I thought to myself - Gabriel Medina will surf very well without pressure, and he gave a surfing show in Pipeline.

He said this after the Round 1 and advanced to Round 3; Round 4; advanced to the Quarterfinals; to Semifinals and ultimately to the FINAL.
