Three times world champion, the Australian talked to LANCE! about the battle against the Brazilians at Final of World Circuit and remember the uncountable times he watched the attack suffered by a shark. Decision starts today in Hawaii.

Despite the high profile that he has in the world of surfing, the Astralian was only known worldwide after being attacked by a shark in Jeffreys Bay stage of WCT, in July, in South Africa. The image did not shock only the viewers but also the protagonist of the scene, like own Fanning describes in this inteview to LANCE! by e-mail.
The accident could have ended with the dream of Fanning of being four times champion that he carries since winning his last title at WCT, in 2013.
The fourth conquest just did not come last year because of a Brazilian in the last stage of 2014, which was disputed in Hawaii, Gabriel defeated the Australian and Kelly Slater to bring the first title to Brazil. Fanning did not forget the defeat, and because of this he points Medina as his main rival for the title in 2015.
Fan of Brazil, the Australian at 34 years old fills with praises the new generation of surfers of the
country, besides remember that was in Brazilian lands where he conquered his first title in 2007 - the
second conquest occured in 2009.
Relaxed and OK with life, Fanning starts the dispute for the 4th world title today, in the tubes of
Pipleine(HAW), where occurs the last stage of world circuit.The waiting window starts at 3:30 pm(of Brasilia), and runs until day 20.
Challenge-Fanning has to face the tubes of Pipeline to be four times champion.
