A year after Medina, and with the help of his friend, Adriano de Souza won the World Circuit in the same Hawaiian beach and keeps the title in Brazil.

The Cup of World Champion of Surfing continues in Brazil. With difficult and dramatic victories
and running out, Adriano de souza conquest a Title that seemed to be destined to the Australian Mick Fanning and became the best surfer in the world in 2015. To make beard, hair and mustache, still won the WCT in Pipeline in a green and yellow Final, defeating Gabriel Medina and becoming the first Brazilian to win in the wave most famous and most danger in the world, a year after the own Medina has been conquered the title at fear corals reef of mythical beach.
A day historic to nacional sport, that celebrate a title conquered with much work, sweat and tears, as the new and crowned champion did not shame of being in tears in front of thousands
of people right after he defeated the Hawaiian Mason Ho in the Semifinals of the event and confirmed his unprecedent conquest.
-It is incredible the feeling. I dedicate this title to Ricardo dos Santos(surfer of Santa Catarina murdered in the beginning of the year), I will always carry his soul with me. It was for him that I did this tatoo with the words "strenght, equilibrium and love".It is what we need - Said Adriano.
Known as Mineirinho, the surfer at 28, has born and grew up in a poor community in Guarujá,
took this nickname of his older brother, Mineiro. And Adriano did not forget the original Mineiro in the celebration of title which always dreamed.
-I dedicated this title also to my brother, that gave me the first surfboard with R$ 30. It was much money for him, I knew, and today I am at top of the world due by R$ 30 - completed, crying a lot.

CROWNING OF THE SEASON
The title in Hawaii crown an amazing season of Adriano de Souza, that did four finals, winning in
Margaret River, in Australia and Pipeline, finishing as deputy champion in Bells Beach(Australia) and Trestles(USA) ,besides two Semifinals, in Australian Gold Coast and in France.Crown also a career dedicated and worked to a moment as of yesterday. Since that entered in WCT, in 2006, Adriano de Souza was appointed as the great Brazilian hope to conquest a unprecedented and so distant World Title. He was in fifth position at final of three seasons, in 2009, 2011, and 2012, and turned a kind of "captain" of new generation that dominated the circuit in the last years.
In last year, injured, Adriano did not compete in Pipeline and watched on TV Gabriel Medina became the first Brazilian World Champion . In that day, Adriano started the plan to 2015: work more than has been already worked:
-Without Gabriel, I would not be champion. He showed me the way. Thanks very much, Gabriel. Share this moment with him in the Final was a blessing.
As declared many times during the season, Adriano did not need be the best surfer in the world, but better than his adversary at 30 minutes of each heat.But would be unfair to call Mineirinho just as a "worker" champion. Talented, dominates the manuevers aerials and also surf well the heavy waves, that need manuevers of strenght. Aware that he should be better in tubular locals as Tahiti and Hawaii, trained a lot, specially in Pipeline, what has been decisive in straight Final of the season.
-Always was so criticized by not being good in tubes. Nobody in the circuit never mentioned my name for being champion of this event. And here I am, taking the Cup of World Champion and WCT of Pipeline to home -(blurted) Adriano.
For dominating the last challenge of circuit, the surfer of São Paulo counted with the help of the Hawaiian Jamie O'Brien, considered one of the best surfers of the world in Pipeline.
-The champion every year was decided here in Pipeline and I decided to work. Knocked on the door of Jamie and said: "Please, I want to surf Pipe. If you say no for me, I will sleep at your door, because I want train here, want surf every day here." Dedicated myself a lot. I worked so much here in Pipeline."
UNDER PRESSURE BY FANNING
In the way to Final in Pipeline, Adriano competed always under pressured by the results of Mick Fanning. The surfer of São Paulo needed to finish the championship a round over the Australian , that entered in the water before. In a Ferris wheel of emotions , Fanning defeated Kelly Slater in the Quarterfinals - result that took Medina off the fight for the Cup - and a little after Adriano defeated the Australian Josh kerr turning, af final,in a dramatic heat. In the Semifinals, Fanning faced Medina e seemed destinated to win when opened the battle with a beautiful tube that scored 7.33, difficult grade to weak conditions of the day. At final minutes, Medina pulled the rabbit out of the hat and completed an aerial 360º, uncommon manuever in Pipeline, and turned the result, leaving the door opened to title of Mineirinho.
The 30 minutes of heat of the Semifinals between Adriano and the Hawaiian Mason Ho, that competed as Wild Card and was defeating the favorites in the rounds, were with few waves and much nervous..The grades did not overcome 2.00, till Adriano found a tube and scored 4.00. Mason answered with 3.83 one, but did not find the wave that would give him the victory and would deliver to title to Fanning. At final minutes, hundreds of Brazilians in the Hawaiian beach already celebrate with beach yokes and towels and shouting of "Jump, leave the ground, the Mineiro is champion!"
The title in Hawaii crown also a amazing season of Brazilian surfer. Of 11 stages in the season, only two(Fiji and South Africa) did not have any surfer of called "Brazilian storm" at final. In a year of strong emotions in professional surf, with the right a shark attack to Mick Fanning in Jeffreys Bay, in South Africa, the Brazilian gave the cards, reaching to nine decisions and winning six stages, including the three last ones of the year. The storm took over WCT and do not give indications that will slow down the velocity.
