 We talk with
Adriano de Souza
I am the favorite to be champion of the circuit.

For ten years in the elite of surfing, Mineirinho shows confidence in the first title and provokes Mick Fanning.

Adriano de Souza, o Mineirinho, is 10 years along competing in  surfing world elite and never had a chance like this to be, finally, champion.

The last stage this year, performed in Pipeline, in Hawaii, starts tomorrow. In the ranking of the season, the Brazilian is in the 3rd  position, with a insignificant difference of points to Mick Fanning, the first, and Filipe Toledo, the second.

In other words, Adriano de Souza depends only on herself to cure the frustration of never having risen to the highest point of the podium of world's leading surfing competition.

It is the first time that Mineirinho reaches to the end of the year fighting for the title.  In this interview
to LANCE!The surfer of Guarujá(SP) -who is called Mineirinho because of his older brother, the Mineiro - he showed very confident in affirming that is the favorite to clinch the world title in professional surfing.

In addition to declare as the main competitor for the title, the Brazilian snubbed the declarations of Mick Fanning given to L!(the interview with the Australian will be published tomorrow)aboutg who he considers the main rival in this final of year. For Fanning, his main concern is with another Brazilian Gabriel Medina, current champion.
-It is good. So I stay with less evil eye -said Mineirinho.

Since he entered in the circuit, the Adriano best positions in the season were fifth positions in 2009,2011, and 2012.

In 2015, after having a excellent beginning, Mineirinho declined so much of production. In Rio de janeiro, in Fiji and in Tahiti, the surfer more experienced among the Brazilians in the elite, with 28 years, was unrecognizable. At the time, also in conversation with L! after losing the lead circuit, he said that felt himself more comfortable by relieving the pressure of the first position. After that, at the next two stages after the bad sequence , reached the final in Trestles(USA) and in the semifinals in Peniche(POR). Results that gave moral to the surfer of São Paulo for the "final".

One of the points playing against Adriano de Souza in this decision is the bad record in Hawaii. Since 2007, the best position in Pipeline was a 9th  in 2008. In 2014, the surfer did not compete at this stage
because was recovering a injury.

The past and bad record left behind. At last, are ten years attempting the title - and it has never been so close.
"Water dropping day by day wears the hardest rock away." It is what expects Mineirinho in this final of the year.

The interview will be post after the stage in Pipeline.
