>SAQUAREMA,RJ - December of 2015.Candidate to the World Title, Owen Wright(AUS) is hit by a series of heavy waves in Pipeline, in Hawaii, while is training to the last stage of that year.The Australian leaves the Sea and goes to rest in the house where is staying. Wakes up, desoriented, with difficulties to breath, and is taken to the hospital, where is diagnosed with a brain concussion.There began a drama that would last 15 months of many uncertainties and would finish with one of the greatest recoveries of the history of the sport.
The surfer with 27 years came back to compete in last March, in the first Stage of the Circuit, in Gold Coast, in an event as a screenplay of movie.He was passing heat by heat till defeat his compatriot Matt Wilkinson in the Final.Left the water crying, carried by his brother and sister, the current World Champion Tyler Wright, and acclaimed by the public and competitors. A victory that looked like more a fairy tale. Yesterday, he defeated the Brazilian Bino Lopes in the Recap and is the Round 3 of CT of Saquarema.
-It was so nice that victory in Gold Coast.It was the greatest moment of my career - remembers Owen, that says that entered in that Championship with modest expectations:
-I want only stand up and make some manuevers, you Know? A snap here, another there. I did not wait to come back so well.
Third in the Ranking, he competes in the top, but guarantees that a possible title is the last thing that goes through his mind:
-I want only to be well and surf well. Just this.
The World of Surfing awaited anxious for returning of Owen, that stayed away of the spotlights during the recovery.
-In many moments I thought that I will not be back. It was a roller coaster of emotions. The injury was in the head. I am still working, doing physiotherapy every days.The expectation is to be better from the middle of the year - he explains.

While he stayed away, Owen had a son, Vali, today with 5 months.
