2015 BILLABONG PIPE MASTERS - OVERVIEW FINAL and THE STAGE - by surfworldtour.blogspot.com
2015 -BILLABONG PIPE MASTERS -OVERVIEW FINAL AND THE STAGE-
by surfworldtour.blogspot.com
INTRODUCTION
On my blog first years I only informed the results, photos of surfers, the events spots, beaches, girls, posters;
I always did everything for myself in English, the Language that I really love ...
In the first WCTs 2008 e 2009 I do even not understand so well the competitions in the stage.
Only in 2010 I started to realize better. From 2010 to 2013 I improved the posts with: results, ranking, top surfers profiles,
Men's and women's professional surfing, and so on..
Only in 2014 Billabong Rio Pro stage I wrote for the first time, about the results, performance of athletes, conditions of the sea, some details - that I realized it -, and so on...
I really enjoyed very much to follow up this Final stage in Hawaii in real time, because I have a stable conection to Internet broadcast through WSL -World Surf League. So I was able to update my blog with some minutes of delay of Rounds and heats disputed in Pipeline.
On my site:surfworldtour.com- it is quite different -as the competitions fishished around 4:00 pm in Hawaii -midnight in Rio de janeiro -I used to updated in the morning of the next because I have to send the files to server by the fastest browser .
Work with surfing is not a work, it is a pleasure.
"Surf is the most beautiful sport" - This is the phrase of my site homepage.
STAGE IN PIPELINE - HAWAII
Last year, when Gabriel Medina was the World Champion, I came to Rio de Janeiro too. But I got a late, and arrived here in the middle of the Stage.
This time I arrived in Rio in November 17th, to cover TARGET MAUI PRO - Women's event in Maui, and later on - BILLABONG PIPE MASTERS, Men's event- both in Hawaii.
I already prepare many versions, from papers and TV, as follows:
Day Title Newspaper/TV program
I followed the stage since the beginning, heat by heat, round by round.
Because the difference of time, and in the morning of the next day I went to Central Station (bus, train, underground)in downtown - to have a pure coffee in the "cup", how I like and bought the papers. Than I took the photos of surfing articles in sports contents and prepared the versions. I still have to learn more surfing terms, but I have some experience in WCTs championships after eight years- three in Imbituba -Santa Catarina, and five in Rio de Janeiro.
TOP SURFERS
There are 34 top surfers in the elite of World circuit and two Wild Cards availbable in each stage. Sometimes more, if some top surfers are injured.
In this stage in Hawaii, there were two top surfers out of the event:
-Fredyy Patachhia(HAW)
-Matt Banting(AUS) - injured;
Two had already been invited:
-Wade Carmichael(AUS)
-Bruce Irons(HAW)
So the Trials would decide the two Wild Cards left.
The Trials are disputed during the period of the stage.
So everything was ready to go, just depends on Sea conditions...

Once a friend of mine says the life tracks your way...
So, I never could imagine that one day, I would have a blog and site of surfing...
I do everything with much proud, I do my best always, and I am learning, I still have to learn much more...
My first WCT, was in 2008,in Praia da Vila, Imbituba,Santa Catarina; I was so lost there, I knew noboby, but I loved so much. The speaker narrated the event in Portuguese and English -"My Beach"-as I like to say...
Unfortunately I could not meet Adriano de Souza(BRA)in this event; he entered the elite of surfing in 2006...
In my second WCT, in Praia da Vila, Imbituba, there were many "lay days" but I went to the beach anyway to see the surfers, that atmosphere of World Circuit, I had no experience, I only wanted know the athletes, take some photos, to my small blog - geocities.com/mauienglish/sports of yahoo.
At 7:54 am of July 1st, 2009 sharp two days before my birthday, I had the pleasure to Know "Mineirinho" when he was arriving for a surfing session - So I asked him -
Please Adriano, I am from Porto Alegre, may I take a photo of you, to my small blog of surfing ?
He was nice as always, prompt stand and I took the photo.
Now, he is the current World Champion of Surfing, I kept working on Internet.
I have the blog: surfworldtour.blogspot.com and the site: surfworldtour.com.
I have pleasure to go to the stages in Brazil for while(next year I am planning to go to San Francisco, California, USA, where I had already lived and studied and to cover Trestles stage and than go to Hawaii - to Pipe Masters -Final straight of World Circuit),take photos, videos, prepare versions of papers, surfing news on TV, programs of surfing, and so on. I have already editted videos of BILLABONG RIO PRO 2012, 2013, 2014 AND OI RIO PRO 2015.
