Filipe Toledo is in the Quarterfinals of the stage of Bali of the World Circuit of Surfing. The Brazilian defeated Ryan Callinan with the score of 15.93 against 13.74 of the Australian. In the next Round, filipe faces Kelly Slater in the fight for a place in the Semifinals.
Filipe started the heat against Callinan very well. The Brazilian took every opportunities he had to try to score, while the Australian waited the best waves. Callinan had more success initially, soon he got a 6.77 and took the leadership against two low scores of Toledo(2.93 and 1.10)that added 4.03.
The answer came strong.With his traditional aerials show, Toledo got a 8.60 and added with a 5.90 and took the leadership less of 12 minutes to the end. Filipinho extended the advantage with a wave 7.33 that replace a 5.90 and complicated the situation of Callinan.
Still on Sunday, Michael Rodrigues defeated the current vice World Champion, Julian Wilson, the Brazilian surfed waves of 6.67 and 7.00, adding up 13.67 in the final of the dispute. Julian had a modest sum of 6.77, regreting the elimination, with waves of 5.00 and 1.77.
Who had a disappointing heat was Jessé Mendes. Current Champion of the Hawaiian Triple Crown, the Brazilian did not surf a good wave in the dispute against the Japanese Kanoa Igarashi and was defeated by 15.66 to 5.86.
