Finally started

The Quicksilver Pro France, the ninth stage of the Men's World Circuit, began yesterday in Hossegor on the beach La Graviere. The Championship, with waiting window opened on the day 7th, waited several days to begin.

The new swell arrived well, with waves between 1.5m to 2.0m rights and lefts with good formation, weak offshore wind and good conditions for surfing.

The European leg is always very interesting because it puts a lot of pressure on the athletes. The dispute is always on fire and the conditions are very variable. In Hossegor, especially, we can see classic, heavy and big tubes (even being a breach break), or we can have smaller waves, but that allow a progressive surfing.

From what we have been observed in the freesurf sessions, John John Florence(HAW) is the one who seems more fitted and comfortable at the peak. At my opinion, he is the favorite of this stage. And if we would talk about the two main postulantes to the World Title.Jordy smith (Leader) and John john (vice), I see the Hawaiian in advantage in these last three remaining stages.

Medina(BRA) and Ian Gouveia(BRA) won right in the debut, surfed good rights with an aggressive backside, radical maneuvers and a high speed, they took good scores. Medina 8,43 and Ian Gouveia 8.57

The Hawaiian John John Florence(HAW) and the South African Jordy Smith(RSA) also won in the  Round 1, surfing very well and giving surfing show, as already was foreseen.

In the Recap and at the end of the day, the Australian Mick Fanning(AUS) four times champion of this stage, had a hard time to defeat the Hawaiian Ezekiel Lau(HAW), who also surfed well.

The call of Quiksilver and Roxy Pro France happens today, already in the Brazilian dawn.

About the girls, Roxy Pro France is already well advanced and the Championship has already advanced to the Semifinals. Carissa Moore(HAW) faces the leader of World Circuit, Sally Fitzgibbons(AUS), and Tyler Wright(AUS)will face the inspired Lakey Peterson(USA).

Our only representative on the Circuit, Silvana Lima(BRA), who comes from victory in Trestles, did a good campaign in France, but was eventually eliminated by Carissa Moore(HAW).
Still, it was an important result for Silvana Lima(BRA), who is getting closer for achieving her permanence in the Women's elite of the World Circuit.

Aloha and till the next!
