With two surfboards broken, Medina wins in France and returns to the fight for the Title

Gabriel Medina returned to the fight for the World Title of Surfing. Yesterday, the Brazilian won the stage of Hossegor, in France, of the World Circuit, when defeating the Hawaiians John John Florence, in the Semifinal and Sebastian Zietz in the Final and clinched the stage for three-time. Along the way stayed the main opponents and... two surfboards, which he destroyed during the heat. "I broke two boards, but it was a fun battery," he joked. With the first win of the year, Medina went jumped from the eighth to the third place of the World Circuit. "I had a big event here, good waves, I am really very happy, I did not think about the World Title, in the Ranking, I only wanted to have fun.I promised to my father and to myself that I would win at least one event this year and I got.Then I'm very happy.  Remaining two stages to the end of the World Circuit, the surfer of São Paulo("Paulista") enters the fight despite all the favoritism of John John Florence, leader with 49,900. The South African Jordy Smith follows in second place with 47,600, and Medina comes in third with 40,750. The title will be decided in Peniche, Portugal, this month; and in Pipeline, in Hawaii in December.
