SOUTH AFRICAN WINS IN TRESTLES
Filipe Toledo(BRA) was the best surfer in Trestles(USA) stage of the World Championship of Surfing, till yesterday. In the Semifinals, the surfer of São Paulo(SP) only fitted an aerial maneuver that is his speciality, and was eliminated by the South African Jordy Smith(RSA) with the score 17.23 to 14.50. In the Final, J. Smith(RSA)now in 4th position of Ranking defeated the Australian Joel Parkinson(AUS)with the score 15.80 to 15.36, so he conquered the eighth stage of 11 stages of the World Championship and entered to the fight for his first title.
In the Women's Final, the Australian Tyler Wright(AUS) defeated his compatriot Stephanie Gilmore(AUS), six times World Champion. The Men's next stop will be in Hossegor, France, between 4th and 15th of October.
