While this, Gabriel Medina, classified himself directly to the Quarterfinals, defeated the Australian Julian Wilson, tormentor of Caio Ibelli in the Recap. The fight to arrive to the Semifinals happened with few waves on the sea. The Brazilian won with aerials manuevers that guaranteed 15.07 against 10.13 of his rival.
