When I lived in San Francisco, California; Chicago, Illinois, United States of America, I knew many Australians, and always had a good relationship with them. They have a different "accent" sometimes is difficult to understand them, but they are all nice guys, and they always treated me so well.. I also like so much Australian movies as Mad Max, Crocodilo Dundee, Matrix, Babe and so on...The Australian Music, as AC/DC, Midnight Oil, Australian Crawl, Hoodoo Gurus, INXS, Spy vx Spy, Men at Work, Silverchair and so on... I played the guitar from 1997 to 2011, when I sold my "Fender" one, but one day I will play again...Now I am more involved with videos, camcorders.
I have friends of my hometown that are living in Sydney, Australia, and they say that "Australia" is so nice!!!And it is a somewhat similar to my state, RS, Rio Grande do Sul, the southern state in Brazil. One day, I intend to know this wonderfull country...The beaches, Gold Coast, Bells, and so on...

2008

I from RS, and I started working with surfing in 2008. My first World Championship Tour was in October , in Vila Beach - Imbituba, Santa Catarina. It was easy for me I caught a bus from Porto Alegre, RS at midnight and arrived in Imbituba, SC, on next day, around 6:00 am, but I always stayed in Garopaba, SC; Wherever I am in Porto Alegre, São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Saquarema...I always take "Garopaba" in my heart, the famous surfing town in Santa Catarina, where the "surf " has shone in my life in summer of 2006, right after my "beloved" dad passed away.
The event was Hang Loose Pro SC and there was only competition of Men's. In my "debut" in World Circuit of Surfing, an Australian surfer, Bede Durbdige(AUS) won the contest, and I got so happy because I took a picture of him to my first blog in the web called geocities.com/mauienglish/sports of Yahoo, that later on was desativated...
That time the Women's Championship Tour of Surfing did not have a stage in Brazil.

2009
------
In 2009, the event was Hang Loose Pro SC again, and the great champion of Surfing "Kelly Slater" was the champion of the stage, exactly on the date of birthday, July 3rd. This year the World Champion of Surfing was Mick Fanning(AUS), who I shaked his hand on the shore and said -
Hi, Mick..and He answered Hi!! I will never forget..I had a good memory, I remember almost everything...It was "certainly" one of my happiest days in my life... Nice people, good vibes, well-formed Sea waves attracted me for surfing. There were fewer people in the championships. The Women's Championship Tour still did not have a contest in Brazil.

2010

In 2010, I created my blog of surfing and went to my 3rd World Championship in Brazil. The event changed to Billabong Pro SC, and there was still not Women's competition. In this year I knew the surfer Owen Wright(AUS), a new "edge"surfer in the Circuit, the fans in Brazil, liked him a lot, he looked like a "movie star", and surfed very well in Vila Beach, he only was "defeated" in the Quarterfinals. I got so "upset" when he was injured in Pipeline in 2015(see the post Australians athletes injured in Pipeline). He has many brothers, that are surfers and a younger sister, TYLER WRIGHT(AUS) that is surfer too. All Australians surfers always treat me so well as: Bede Durbidge(AUS),Taj Burrow(AUS), Mick Fanning(AUS),Joel Parkinson(AUS), Kieren Perrow(AUS), Matt Wilkinson(AUS), and others too.
Jadson Andre(BRA)a Brazilian surfer won this stage over the great champion "Kelly Slater"(USA).

2011
------
In 2011 the stage in Brazil moved to Rio de Janeiro, in Arpoador and Barra da Tijuca -Posto 4 -beaches. I came from Porto Alegre by airplane, a flight of around two hours to Rio de Janeiro, for the first time, and when I arrived in Santos Dumont Airport in downtown I did not know any direction, I did not find any place to stay at night...My flight arrived late in afternoon, and it was raining plenty, so I decided to spend the night in the Bus Station; I already traveled a lot, to South America, USA, to Europe, 15 countries...I never got scared. I trust in God and he will protected me anyway. I keep calm, and try to find the best way to go...I woke up in the morning, I took a bus to Barra da Tijuca through Alto da Boa Vista, and when I was arriving to Barra da Tijuca by the mountains and see the Barra da Tijuca beach "outside", I thought to myself, "it is amazing", so beautiful, I never saw a place like that...I already have been in many beaches in RS, SC, in California in USA, Europe, but not how "Barra da Tijuca"...
In this stage in Brazil, there was competition of Women's, but my blog just "concerned" about Men's competition. In this 2011 stage was raining a lot in Rio de Janeiro...Adriano de Souza(BRA) won the Billabong Rio Pro stage and Carissa Moore(HAW)won Billabong Girls Rio Pro I only posted some photos and results of Women's Championship on my blog.

In 2012, my 5th WCT, I already knew many Australian surfers, as Taj Burrow("King of Rio" -won the stage in Brazil, for three times). Once in 2009 he was entering the water for a surf session in Vila Beach, and I ran to the shore with my celular -a Nokia 6225i-(480x640 resolution-)and asked him for a picture, and he stopped for while, I got so happy, is one my favorite photos......) and all were so nice with me...The girls also, Stephanie Gilmore(AUS), Sally Fitzgibbons(AUS), Laura Enever(AUS),...
In 2012, the competition of Men's and Women's ocurred simountaneasly in the stage in Brazil, so I decided to post both "Circuits" on my blog, Men's and Women's...In this stage , the Australian Surfer, Sally Fitzgibbons(AUS) won the stage...She is so sympatic, and I took many pictures,(See the blog on )of the girls, as Lake Peterson(USA), Alessa Quizon(HAW)...

On the first day, the event was "lay day", cloudy with 1-to-2foot waves and light wind.
Gabriel Medina(BRA)a surfer of Maresias(SP)was the current World Champion and the event was the biggest surfing championship in Brazil.
There were many people in Postinho - Barra da Tijuca, from all country around and overseas too.

I still have to learn a lot how to film surf, but I like so much. I bought my dreamed Sony Video Camera in January, 6th, 2016, (1/6/16)so I debut the camera in OI Rio Pro contest in Brazil in May, and I will post my "first" video of surfing on Internet network tonight, January, 7th, 2017(1/7/17).I am a superstitious guy, I hope this date give me luck, and I keep making many videos, maybe one from Pipeline, Hawaiian stage in January, 8th, 2018(1/8/18). Sometimes it is not easy to film the manuevers of surfers on the water with the people around, I never received a credential; I do not use tripod; perhaps it is worst, because the Sea change all the time and competition area is big, so I would have to move all the time. I keep on the same level of everybody, would be better, keep on a structure above, but I do my things as I can anyway. I took my degree in Business Administration in Universidade do Vale do Rio dos Sinos -Unisinos -São Leopoldo, RS, Brazil, and I during all course I never bought a book an at the end of course I received Academic Laurels and later a schoolarship from my state government to study Marketing in San Francisco State University, San Francisco, California, USA. I am used to with few resources. And in 2016 contest, rained a lot in the last two days of competitions. But I have a little experience filming with Cell phone the stages of WCT in Brazil since 2008. And I already edited many videos of surfing. And I learned a lot with other video makers and photographers.Finally I always do my "best", if it was not Ok, I going the get better the next time!!!

T. Wright(AUS) was so focused on the heats, and reached an excellent shape in this season.
She was more powerfull at maneuvers. Right after the heat " is over", I usually run in direction to the surfers to take a picture...Once in 2014, when Tyler Wright(AUS)was defeated in the heat.. I got close her to take a picture..and I suddenly said -
-Nice Tyler!!!

In 2014 and 2015 Tyler was deputy champion.In this season 2016, from ten contests Tyler Wright(AUS) won five:
-Roxy Pro Gold Coast, Snapper Rocks in Australia;
-Drug Aware Pro Margaret River, Margaret River - Australia;
-Oi Rio Women's Pro, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil;
-Swatch Women's Pro - San Clemente, USA.
-Maui Pro - Honolua Bay - Hawaii , USA.
She was so focused on the competitions, and surfing very well too. She was World Champion for antecipation in Hossegor, France(penultimate stage of the Circuit).After Courtney Conlogue (USA) was defeated by Carissa Moore(HAW). Tyler Wright(AUS)did an excelent season, with concentration and focused in all the heats. The surf of Tyler Wright(AUS)evoluted so much...She also was in excellent shape for the contests all over the world....I am not specialist in surfing but when I was editing the videos I realized Tyler Wright(AUS)is riding the manuevers with more lightness and power at same time, besides better Sea reading.
Finally, this Overview is a TRIBUTE for TYLER WRIGHT(AUS), for her surfers brothers -Owen Wright(AUS)!), for all her family, and her friends in Australia, an fans all over the world...I know she deserves much more than this simple Tribute but it is what I am able to give her from heart(as we say!)
