Brazil will have nine surfers in the elite in the next year
The sequence of titles of Brazil in the World Surf League was interrupted by John Johnn Florence(HAW) in 2016. But anyway the "Brazilian Storm" will be less intense in the next year. Gabriel Medina, Adriano de Souza, Filipe Toledo, Ítalo Ferreira, Caio Ibelli, Wiggolly Dantas, Miguel Pupo, Jadson André, and Ian Gouveia are guaranteed in the dispute in 2017.
At the end of the stage of Pipeline, in Hawaii, at the close of the season, clinched by Tahitian Michel Bourez, Medina finished as the best Brazilian in the ranking: third. Mineirinho, the champion of 2015, was the 11th place.
