The dream of the dreams
The World Title conquered by Mineirinho and the Final of Pipe Masters being disputed by two
Brazilians was the best result of all times, the biggest nightmare of foreigner surfers and the biggest dream of Brazilians.
Mineirinho was the great world champion not only by his quality and hability, but also because
having a feature the judges like: the competitivity. Or how we say, he has strength and won at base of
strenght.
By the way Filipe Toledo, that also fought for the title, spent time to choose the waves in the
beginning of the heat the was eliminated, the Sea was very difficult and than the title has gone.
But on Wednesday, that we had the heat of the year, with Mick Fanning, Kelly Slater and John John
Florence and wonderful waves. It was a show of surfing and would call the Gold Heat. Kelly was
magic, John John took tubes of backside almost impossible. Mick chose the best waves and won the
heat. Yesterday the Sea went down, but was very difficult to choose the good waves and the strong
wind. The heat of Mineirinho with Josh Kerr was with waves of low quality, low scores, but
the Brazilian persevered, competed well and turned over in the last wave.
At first Semifinal between Medina and Mick Fanning, the Australian was very good in the first
wave and scored 7.33 points and surfed good tubes, while the Brazilian surfed well, but did not
have a good selection of waves. At last wave, he used his mortal arm: an aerial full rotation
and turned over the heat at final minute. He classified himself to decision and took the title of Hawaiian Triple Crow.
At second Semifinal, Mineirinho and Mason Ho surfed a heat with weak waves, low scores, scrambled sea and strong wind. It was a suffering dispute. If he would win, he would be the champion, and if would lose, the title was of Mick. But Mineirinho led all time. At end, the title was more than deserving.
Aloha!

Mineirinho is World Champion in Pipeline with the help of Gabriel Medina. Story in the waves begun with a surfboard of R$ 30
Oahu, Hawaii
At insistence, Adriano de Souzaa, the Mineirinho, dribbled the difficulties of the poor infancy in Guarujá(SP)to become a professional surfer. Yesterday , keeping the same perseverance, the Brazilian struck the obstacles to defeat the Australian Mick Fanning and reaches to the top of his career:the title of World Circuit of Surfing, after a victory in the stage of Pipeline in Hawaii.
In celebration, still in sand, the athlete remember the complicated moments in beginning of life.
-I dedicate this Trophy to my brother. By R$ 30, Angelo bought a surfboard for me.At that moment, it was much money. Today, I am in the top of the world by R$ 30- thanked Mineirinho, second Brazilian to lift the Cup, because up to yesterday the champion was Gabriel Medina: -
This conquest ís also of Ricardinho, that is with me in competitions (the friend dead this year).
After leading good part of the season, Mineirinho arrived in Pipeline in third position, behind of the leader Mick Fanning and Filipe Toledo. The surfer of São Paulo(SP) guaranteed the title after Melina eliminated the Australian in Semifinals, and to overcome the Hawaiian Mason Ho.
Despite of help, the new champion did not give chance to his friend at the Final of the stage and became the First Brazilian to lift the Trophy in Pipeline.
-I said to Gabriel in the water that without him I never would be champion. He showed me the way to arrive here. Thanks very much, Gabriel - considered the surfer, that added up 57,700 points this year.
At 28 years, Adriano de Souza is the Brazilian in the circuit with more participations in the World Tour: ten. In 2015, before Pipeline, he had won in Margaret River, in Australia, and took two deputies championship - in Bells Beach and Trestles, in USA. But a sequence of bad results in Rio, Fiji, Tahiti and Portugal took him off the leadership in the ranking.
I was so criticized by media, because they appointed out that I was not good in big waves. Than, do not place my name among the favorites to win in Pipeline. Believe so much in God and I am taking home the trophies of World Champion and of the stage in Hawaii - proud himself the surfer of são Paulo: - It is a bonus to be champion in Pipeline, as O'Brien, Slater, Bede Durbidge.
Mineirinho earned US$ 377 thousand(around RS 1,5 million) -the same value of the deputy champion Fanning, due to the results in the season. In this point, other Brazilian was the champion: winner of three stages in the year(Gold Coast, Rio and Peniche).Filipe Toledo took home US$ 397 thousand(equivalent to RS$ 1,546 milion)
