ANDY IRONS - November 2nd, 2010

Andy Irons (HAW) 32 years, passed away on November 2nd, 2010 in Dallas Texas United States of America in transit back home - Hawaii - after withdrawing from the contest - Rip Curl Pro Search 2010 Puerto Rico - due to illness.


The surfer stopped competing in 2009 for personal reasons but he was invited to returned to the elite this year. Last September Irons won the 2010 Billabong Pro Tahiti with great performance. He lived in Kawaii Hawaii and he was married since 2007. He also participated in surfing movies.


Andy began his career at World Championship Tour - Association of Surfing Professionals - in 1998 and reached 20 victories in the elite tour. He was three-time world champion of surfing in consecutive years 2002, 2003, 2004. He also collected four Triple Crown of Surfing.


The surfing world will never be the same without the grand Hawaiian champion of surfing
