Dreaming of the bichampionship of the World Circuit of Surfing, Gabriel Medina had an excellent performance yesterday in the stage of Portugal.
Disputed in Peniche, the heats of the Rounds 3 and 4 were held in the morning and the Brazilian surfer advanced to the Quarterfinals of the competititon. Second place in the Ranking of the season, Filipe Toledo was eliminated in the Round 3. By the way, the Australian Julian Wilson, who is the dispute by the title, will surf the last heat of the Round 4 only today.
With Filipe Toledo already eliminated Medina may become champion of the World Circuit in the stage of Portugal.For this he needs to win the stage and Wilson can not reach the Semifinal. In the second heat, it was the turn of Medina to demonstrate his favoritism and defeated Michel Bourez and the Portuguese Frederico Morais. The Brazilian finished with 11.67, against 7.84 of Polynesian and 3.63 of Lusitano. The fourth heat, in which Julian Wilson is, was postpone to the morning of today.
