Stage of Portugal starts today
Just four days after the end of the French stage, the World Circuit of Surfing disembarks today in Peniche, Portugal. The tenth and penultimate stage of the championship will be the site of a fight that became more disputed with the win of the Australian Julian Wilson in Hossegor. The Brazilians Gabriel Medina and Filipe Toledo share with Wilson the protaginism in the dispute for the title in the season. Medina arrives with the advantage of being the unique that may put the hands in the Cup of World Champion already in Europe. If he wins the stage, Toledo needs to finish at least in ninth, and Julian at least in third, to the decision will be disputed in Pipeline, in December. In case of Medina finishes in second the fight follows automatically to Hawaii.
-My goal is to follow leading the Ranking, said Medina. "I know what I have to do. I am focused in myself. I already was in this position before, I hope that everything will be all right".

The Australian Julian Wilsonj won the stage of France or World Circuit of Surfing, in Hossegor,
defeated the also Australiaan Ryan Callinan in the Final hebt by tight scores 15.34to 14.23.
The stage was very good for the Brazilian Gabriel Medina. The Champion of the stage in the season
of 2017 was defeated in the Semifinal to Wilson. However, by reaching the Semifinals, took the leadership of the competition. This occurs by the following motive: Filipinho started the stage in the leadership. But was defeated in the Round 3 and scored only 1,750 points, reaching to 51,450.

But the Australian took the unique score 10 of all the stage and the Brazilian did not score to defeat him: 16.67 x 15.44 -

Needing a score 7.33 to overcame the compatriot Callinan, tried but the waves did not showed up.
In the end, Wilson won with 15.34 to 14.23, but Callinan also became happy therefore only disputed in France because received the Wild Card and overcame many favorites, including F. Toledo in the Round 3.
Brazilian storm
The "Brazilian storm", how is called the legion of brazucas in the elite of surfing, keeps going very well in this season. Till the moment, from ten stages, the Brazilian too eight: Brazil and South África(Filipinho); Tahiti and Califórnia(Medina); Bells beach/Austrália and Corona/Bali(Italo Ferreira); and William Cardoso(Corona/Bali). The Women's stage of World Circuit, also em Hossegor, in France, has the win of the American
Courtney Conlogue. She defeated the Australian Macy Callaghan. It was her second triumph
in the season.
-I am happy by recovering of injury that complicated me in the season. I was confidente in the
win - said Conlogue, that is not in the fight by the title.
The Brazilian Tatiana Weston-Webb was defeated in the Quarterfinals. She follows in third
in the Ranking, but does not have more chances of title that will be or with the Australian
Stephanie Gilmore or the American Lake Peterson.
Only one more stage is remaining.
