In the fight for the World Title of the season, Medina advances in France and follows behind John John
HOSSEGOR, FRANÇA - Brazil started well the ninth and antepenultimate stage of the World Circuit of Surfing. Yesterday, in Hossegor, France, five Brazilian athletes won their first heats and advanced to the Round 3. Among them are the last two world champions: Adriano de Souza, Mineirinho, and Gabriel Medina.
Second place in the ranking with 37,450 points, Medina tries to overcome in this stage the Hawaiian John John Florence, who has 41,650. For this, the 2014 World Champion has to win in Hossegor, and hopes that the rival arrives at most to the Quarterfinals.
The Hawaiian also overcame his first challenge by winning the sixth heat against the American Conner Coffin and the French Joan Duru. If stops in the Semifinals in France, Medina only conquer the leadership of the World Circuit of Surfing if the Hawaiian does not surpass the next heat that will compete.
The last surfer of the country that entered the water, Adriano de Souza scored 14 points and, with very tranquility, overcame the Tahitian Michel Bourez and the Australian Adam Melling. Besides Mineirinho, are in the Round 3, the Brazilians Miguel Pupo, Ítalo Ferreira and Caio Ibelli.
By the way Filipe Toledo, Alejo Muniz, Jadson André and Alex Ribeiro went to the recap(Round 2), to be held today if the waves support in Hossegor.

JOHN JOHN
SHOWS VALUE
It began yesterday in Hossegor, in France, the ninth stage of the World Circuit. In the second position Gabriel Medina dispute the title of the season with the leader John John Florence. But in the first heat, the Brazilian has already realized that need to surpass himself to overcome the Hawaiian.
At a balanced duel, John John defeated the French Joan Duru and the American Conner Coffin.
With two to the end, the French was leading the heat, but John John found a good right, took a spectacular tube and won the heat. It was the highest score of the day with 16.10.
Among the Brazilians in the competition, besides Medina, four won in the Round 1 in Hossegor.
Advanced to the Round 3, to be held today, Miguel Pupo, Ítalo Ferreira, Caio Ibelli and Adriano de Souza, the Mineirinho. However Filipe Toledo, Alejo Muniz, Wiggolly Dantas and Jadson André lost and will have a new chance in the Round 2. Let's hope!
In the dawn of today in Brazil (morning in France) an upcoming call will take place to decide whether to continue or not the competition. The forecast is positive as the sea decline a little - 1,5m waves around -and will lose size between tomorrow and Sunday. Let's wait and check it out.
Good luck to Brazilians and good waves. Aloha!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ON THE TUBE
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
MINEIRINHO Adriano de Souza surfed very well, found good waves, maneuvered strong, with clean style and great speed. He won the heat with reasonable facility.
------------------------
EYE ON THE TOP Gabriel Medina also surfed very well. He took a good right, did maneuvers with
accuracy, with high scores, and kept in the first place in the heat.So as his compatriot, advanced to the Round 3 with reasonable facility. The fight between Medina and John John for World Title of the season follows firm and strong.
-----------------------
CHEERING It is right that a Brazilian will be eliminated in the French stage. Because, in the 12 heats of Round 2, a heat will be a duel between Filipe Toledo and Alex Ribeiro. Alejo Muniz will face the Tahitian Michel Bourez, Wiggoly Dantas will face the American Conner Coffin, and Jadson André will compete against Kanoa Igarashi, from United States.
